Kaapse Honeybush is Limoncello, carefully crafted with the zest of the finest South African lemons and thereafter infused with Cape Honeybush Tea.
Honeybush Tea is indigenous to the Cape, South Africa, with historically well recognised medicinal properties. Hence, it is used to make herbal teas, which are not only low in tannins, but naturally caffeine free and rich in antioxidants. It is part of the family of Rooibos teas and we use it because it is slightly sweeter than the Rooibos tea. Honeybush is so named because the flowers (bright yellow) are very sweet smelling.
Appearance: Beautifully rich deep golden amber colour, that sparkles in the glass.
Nose: Ripe mango with nuances of tobacco and cigar box wood.
Palate/Finish: Honeybush has a unique, complex and intense flavour with a natural sweetness following through. Lasting finish!
Serve: Chilled or at room temperature in a balloon glass to capitalise on the intense, unique and complex flavours. A satisfying digestive on its own or to accompany coffee or cheese platters.
